Not necessarily. For Hyperliquid meetups like HYPE Cannes and HYPE Miami, anyone curious about the Hyperliquid ecosystem is welcome. For hackathons, some hands-on experience with HyperEVM, EVM development, or trading tools goes a long way. We're looking for builders ready to take ideas into execution on Hyperliquid.
What can I build at a Hyperliquid hackathon?
At HypeGlobal hackathons, you can build anything that ships on Hyperliquid. Popular tracks include DeFi and trading tools on HyperEVM, staking infrastructure, perps integrations, analytics dashboards, bots, SDKs, and consumer apps. At Seoul 2025, 60 teams built and shipped projects to mainnet in 48 hours. Our next hackathon is HYPE Singapore (October 2026).
What is Hyperliquid?
Hyperliquid is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain built from the ground up for on-chain trading. It features a fully on-chain order book for perpetual futures (perps), a growing DeFi ecosystem on HyperEVM, and some of the fastest execution speeds in crypto. HypeGlobal is the builder-first event platform dedicated to the Hyperliquid ecosystem, organizing hackathons and meetups worldwide.
What is HyperEVM?
HyperEVM is Hyperliquid's EVM-compatible execution environment. It allows developers to deploy Solidity smart contracts on Hyperliquid's L1, enabling DeFi protocols, trading tools, NFTs, and more to run natively alongside Hyperliquid's perps order book. At HypeGlobal events, teams showcase what they're building on HyperEVM at our Builder Stations. Past projects include leveraged token protocols, DEXs, trading terminals, and analytics platforms.
