The hackathon that started it all

HLH Seoul 2025 was the first in-person Hyperliquid hackathon ever. Held during Korea Blockchain Week (September 21-22, 2025), it brought together 250+ builders from around the world to build, ship, and compete on Hyperliquid.

60 teams participated. $40K in prizes were awarded. Multiple projects shipped on Hyperliquid during the event. And Hyperliquid founder Jeff attended in person.

What happened

HLH Seoul was a two-day in-person Hyperliquid hackathon featuring keynotes, workshops, panels, and a demo day. Teams built on HyperEVM across multiple tracks: DeFi and trading tools, staking infrastructure, perps innovation, analytics, bots, and SDKs.

Every team had a shot at spotlight and support from mentors and ecosystem partners. The event proved that Hyperliquid has one of the most active and talented builder communities in crypto.

Platinum: Hyperion · HyperBeat · Redstone
Gold: Hyperdrive · Slash.trade · IMC · AltLayer · Privy · B-Harvest · deBridge
Silver: Flowdesk · HyperSwap · Kinetiq · Hypurrco · Valantis · Relay · Pear Protocol · Narrative · Kintsu · Harmonix · Based · Hyperpie

15+ sponsors backed the first Hyperliquid event of this scale, proving demand from the ecosystem.

The legacy

Seoul was the spark. It proved that Hyperliquid builders show up, ship, and want more. It directly led to the creation of Hype Global, the builder-first event platform for the Hyperliquid ecosystem.

The 2026 tour is the next chapter: HYPE Cannes (1,000+ sign-ups), HYPE Miami during Consensus, and HYPE Hackathon Singapore going even bigger.

About Hype Global

Hype Global organizes hackathons, meetups, and builder events for the Hyperliquid ecosystem worldwide. From Seoul to Cannes to Miami to Singapore, we're building the global home for Hyperliquid events. Follow @hypeglobal_ for the latest.

Tracks & Themes

Programmable Trading — HyperEVM & CoreWriter

Build smart contracts that trade like pros.

Use Hyperliquid’s CoreWriter and precompiles to create DeFi apps that directly read HyperCore’s orderbook and place trades in real time.

  • What to Build:

    • Autonomous trading strategies (e.g. vaults, bots)

    • Smart contract-based risk hedging tools

    • DApps that combine Hyperliquid with other protocols

    • Toolkits or no-code interfaces for programmable trading

  • Why it’s Unique:

    • Only on Hyperliquid can smart contracts tap directly into a live, high-performance orderbook.

    • Enable fully on-chain trading logic — no wrappers, no compromise.

HIP-3 — Builder-Deployed Perpetual Markets

Permissionless perps are here.

Leverage HIP-3 to launch new perpetual markets, create deployment tools, or experiment with alternative derivative structures.

  • What to Build:

    • Perps for real-world assets (commodities, indices)

    • DAO-governed perp markets

    • Tools for market deployment (UI, CLI)

    • Bots and MM strategies for low-liquidity perps

  • Why it’s Unique:

    • HIP-3 turns Hyperliquid into a true financial primitive layer.

    • Anyone can launch a market, earn fees, and define custom logic.

Builder Codes & Monetizable Integrations

Turn your dApp into a revenue engine.

Use Builder Codes to embed monetization into trading UIs, bots, and integrations — and earn fees every time someone trades.

  • What to Build:

    • Aggregators and bots that route trades to Hyperliquid

    • Copy trading and social trading platforms

    • Wallet or frontend integrations

    • SDKs and arbitrage toolkits

  • Why it’s Unique:

    • Builder Codes are on-chain incentives baked into the protocol.

    • Every trade routed through your app earns you fees — like affiliate links for DeFi.

Developer Tools & Public Goods

Not every hero ships a trading app.

This track is for those who want to improve the ecosystem: build tools, SDKs, dashboards, security monitors, and educational content.

  • What to Build:

    • Analytics dashboards or explorers

    • SDKs and CLI tools for developers

    • Faucets, monitoring scripts, validator tools

    • Onboarding and educational resources

  • Why it’s Important:

    • Hyperliquid is a novel chain — builders need better tools and docs.

    • The ecosystem grows stronger with every public good.

FAQ

Who can attend Hyperliquid events?

Developers, designers, founders, traders, and Hyperliquid ecosystem builders can apply to attend any Hype Global event. Our Hyperliquid meetups (Cannes, Miami) welcome anyone active in the ecosystem. Our Hyperliquid hackathons (Seoul, Singapore) welcome teams of all experience levels. Applications go through an approval process on Luma to ensure quality attendance.

What can I build at a Hyperliquid hackathon?

At Hype Global hackathons, you can build anything that ships on Hyperliquid. Popular areas include DeFi and trading tools on HyperEVM, staking infrastructure, perps integrations, analytics dashboards, bots, SDKs, and consumer apps. At Seoul 2025, 60 teams built and shipped on Hyperliquid over a single weekend. Our next hackathon is HYPE Singapore (October 2026).

What's included at Hype Global events?

All Hype Global events are free once accepted. Hyperliquid meetups include food, drinks, Builder Stations with live product demos, and networking with top Hyperliquid ecosystem teams. Hackathons like Seoul 2025 include 24-hour hacker access, onsite mentorship, full meals, branded swag, prizes, and a collaborative build environment with technical support on HyperEVM.

Do I need prior experience with Hyperliquid to attend?

Not necessarily. For Hyperliquid meetups like HYPE Cannes and HYPE Miami, anyone curious about the Hyperliquid ecosystem is welcome. For hackathons, some hands-on experience with HyperEVM, EVM development, or trading tools goes a long way. We're looking for builders ready to take ideas into execution on Hyperliquid.

When and where are the next Hyperliquid events?

The next major Hyperliquid event is HYPE Singapore, a 150+ developer hackathon and conference on October 6-7, 2026, during TOKEN2049 week. The Hyperliquid team hosts its official event on October 5, and TOKEN2049 Singapore runs October 7-8, so the whole ecosystem is in town.

Earlier stops on the 2026 tour: HYPE Cannes (March 31, EthCC week) and HYPE Miami (May 6, Consensus week), both concluded. More cities may be announced. Follow @hypeglobal_ for the latest schedule, and browse the Hyperliquid ecosystem projects directory to see who is building.
